Multiple Sclerosis - MS also called Disseminated Sclerosis is a quite common disease, often with a very slow progression over many years. In many cases it is ultimatively fatal and in some cases called "Malignant Cycle" the progression is very agressive with a fatal outcome witin a few months. 

For others the progression lingers on allowing people to live almost normal lives and upholding their jobs.
